I like songs too, and I think the thing that differentiates them is that with songs you KNOW the rhythm to sing them to, whereas with poems you kind of have to make up a rhythm that fits, until it doesn't anymore and then you're like.. oh crap, that sounds off...

Nope. I'm not much or a poem fan either. The part I think weird is that I L-O-V-E songs and lyrics, which are poems of sorts. But poems are a no go.
